Anker Bak's AB019 Wall Desk for Carl Hansen & Søn is one of the nominees for Furniture of the Year 2025. Developed for small homes, the wall-mounted desk uses oak veneer and a simple expression to create a home office with minimal space, while its flat-packed format and easy installation support practical use.

VÆRDIG, Anker Bak’s rolling crutch, has become part of Designmuseum Danmark’s national collection. Designed in 2014 as his first design, the crutch was developed with his grandmother after hip surgery and is made from moulded plywood, with an elongated foot that rolls across the ground.

Statens Kunstfond commended Anker Bak during his first solo exhibition, Renewed Dignity, at Officinet in Copenhagen in 2022. The presentation brought design for illness, ageing and death into a domestic setting, with assistive objects such as the Ro coffin and a foldable cane shown alongside familiar furniture.

On the opening day of his exhibition Renewed Dignity at Officinet in Copenhagen, Anker Bak took part in a live recording of the Design Kan podcast. The conversation took place inside the exhibition and explored his work as a furniture designer and cabinetmaker, as well as the role of design in relation to ageing, illness, disability and death.

Anker Bak presented his first solo exhibition, Renewed Dignity, at Officinet in Copenhagen from 29 September to 23 October 2022. The exhibition brought together furniture and assistive objects related to illness, ageing and death, including the Ro coffin and a foldable cane, and considered how these subjects can form part of everyday design.

Anker Bak was nominated for IFDA in 2020, the International Furniture Design Competition Asahikawa. The nomination connects his work with the 2020 edition of the international competition for furniture design.

At the 2017 Design Awards, Anker Bak was nominated for Furniture of the Year with the Rocking Nest Chair. Designed by Anker Bak and produced by Carl Hansen & Søn, the chair was created for his sister to sit comfortably with her child and fold the chair away when it was not in use.
